(01) The brief
A 42-key retreat of pavilions and water gardens at the foot of limestone karsts, designed as a sequence of arrivals.
Guests arrive by boat and walk a slow path of water, stone and shade before reaching the main pavilion.
Local craftsmen built every roof by hand, using techniques we documented and re-engineered for the tropical climate.
